Adapt Dashboard Donut Reviewed
Mobile Devices

Donut

What's a dashboard Donut? It has nothing to do with anything edible that might have been stuck to your car's dashboard. Neither is it a device to ease one's haemorrhoids pain as one uncharitable co-worker remarked the other day. Nor is it a parking space for a desktop rodent. It's big and incredibly heavy and becomes an immovable object once you find the right spot on your dash.
It's Adapt's latest contribution to automobile safety: a place to put your mobile phone, PDA, PND or any other device and anchor it securely.
Let's see how it works.

Spb MS3

Arguably the most important page on any computer or mobile device is the homepage. Spb knows that and have spent significant time and money on developing the best interface for your phone in the market today. They already had a winner in version 2.0 which was shipped by many device makers such as Sony Ericsson, Toshiba and others.
The new version, Mobile Shell 3.0,  is absolutely stunning visually and also when it comes down to be able to personalise it.
Here's the first quick look.

Piel Frama Cases for Sony Xperia and HTC Touch Diamond Reviewed

 Piel Frama

It's been a while since we have reviewed any cases from the Piel Frama stable.

But, having acquired a couple of new test platforms recently, namely the Sony Xperia as well as the Touch Diamond, we thought to buy them the best possible protection available: a leather case from Piel Frama.

Our bias toward Piel Frama from Spain was based on one of their cases we reviewed earlier, an absolutely gorgeous enclosure for the venerable iPAQ 4700.  This case, which is still in such a good nick after four years of intensive use, proves that durability of these Piel Frama cases is never an issue.

However, there is one problem if ever you buy from Piel Frama.

PocketInformant: Version 8.0

From one of our favourite purveyors of Windows Mobile software, WebIS, here's the big one:

"Pocket Informant is The Next Generation in Personal Daily Management, but we don't just say that; we mean it. Pocket Informant 8 doesn't just simply let you work with your daily events through lists and grids, but with the new Events and Journal views you can look at your life's past and future in an easy cohesive environment. Even create contact links within your appointment or tasks' subject and notes let you quickly access a named contact without having to resort to links or a search. Most suprisingly, this power doesn't come at the cost of a complicated, cluttered interface."

OK, we'll put this one on our latest test platform, the HTC Touch Diamond.
Awesomeness has a new version...

RescoResco -- one of our favourite software suppliers for the mobile platforms (we'll have a whole mini-review segment coming of Resco programs) now is actively supporting the G-sensor technololgy. We know that these accelerometers are becoming more and more prevelant in upmarket mobile units, such as the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Pro, as well as the Samsung Omnia. The Apple iPhone and iPod Touch also have these G-sensors implemented.

Resco's announcement goes a lot further that just using this technology for fun and games... How cool would it be in business applications?

Check out Resco's Press Release here.
